HarbourWatch sits on the boardwalk at Pyrmont, inside the grounds of the Australian National Maritime Museum, with Darling Harbour opening out in front of it. It is a daytime room, open from 9.30am to 4pm, seven days a week, which puts it either side of a morning in the galleries. Coffee comes first, breakfast runs into lunch, and much of what the counter serves goes out in a cup or a box for the boardwalk.
Cooking is coastal and produce-led, which suits a room this close to the water, and the food menu is kept short enough for the kitchen to hold it seven days a week. Breakfast holds the morning, lunch follows it, and coffee goes all day, at a table or in a takeaway cup for the walk along the boardwalk. Ferries come and go at the wharf a short way along, and the harbour fills in the rest of the outlook.
